We continue to support students beyond kindergarten through the Anthony A. Martino Memorial Scholarship.

Meet the 2024 Scholarship Winner!

CHRISTOPHER MCDEVITT

2024 ANTHONY A. MARTINO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

We received many incredible Anthony A. Martino Memorial Scholarship submissions, and after narrowing down our finalists, we’re excited to announce our winner, Christopher McDevitt from Matthews, NC! Congratulations, Christopher!

Christopher graduated from David W. Butler High School, and back in 2011, he graduated from The Goddard School® of Matthews. Christopher is attending North Carolina State University to pursue a double major in Civil Engineering and Geology/Spanish. He wants to become a mining engineer.

Christopher was involved in honors and service societies including the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society and the Key Club, where he received the most community service hours for two years in a row! This work led him to be elected Vice President of the Key Club and National Honor Society. He said that some of his favorite work was the four summers he spent as an assistant coach teaching the Shrimps, 4–6-year-olds, how to swim.

Christopher remembers his time at The Goddard School fondly, especially because it was at Goddard that he met his best friend! In his words, they’re still attached at the hip.

We wish Christopher the best as he follows his dreams!
