Meet Katie Owner
Hello my name is Katie Cornatzer and I have worked at The Goddard School since it opened in March 2005! I started out teaching in the “Laughing Lambs” classroom. I have been the Assistant Director, the Director, and now I am the Owner.
My husband Robbie and I have been married for over 25 + years and we currently reside in Chesapeake. We have 2 kids, Lindsay and Chase. My daughter has 3 kids and we love those grandbabies so much! Our son Chase is a proud Goddard Kindergarten Graduate and is currently in college at JMU. Go Dukes! ????
I graduated from Christopher Newport University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I have been in the field since graduating and can’t imagine doing anything else. I always look forward to a new day with all of the children and families here at The Goddard School!

Infant
6 w - 12 m
In the Infant program, our teachers provide your baby with all the cuddles and care they need with opportunities to begin exploring the world around them.
Toddlers
12 - 24 m
As your little one rapidly develops physically and cognitively, our Toddler classroom is where their natural curiosity is fostered and their budding skills are nurtured.
Twos
2 - 3 yrs
In the Twos classroom, experienced, caring teachers guide your child through playful exploration, helping navigate big emotions while providing hands-on learning experiences that nurture their innate curiosity.
Bridge
2.5 - 3.5 yrs
As your child continues to gain independence, build self-care skills and learn more about themselves, the Bridge classroom provides the support they need to thrive in a preschool setting.
Preschool
3 - 4 yrs
In our Preschool classroom, your child starts their journey into a cooperative learning environment where they can discover interests and learn in a more structured setting.
Pre-K
4 - 5 yrs
As your child prepares for Kindergarten, our Pre-K classroom offers exciting opportunities to develop important skills, make new friends and explore the world around them.

What Our Goddard Village Is Saying
Katie runs a wonderful business and daycare program. Her and her staff are amazing and care for our child as if she is their own and I have zero worry when my child goes to Goddard in Chesapeake. In fact, the entire staff goes above and beyond to care for, teach, and keep our kids safe. I am so grateful to have found a safe and loving place for my child to attend while my husband and I work and I will always recommend the Goddard school in Chesapeake.
The staff is so friendly and kind. Yet they are firm to keep kids in line. They clean constantly. If there is an issues Katie has already taken care of it.
The staff is kind and sincerely cares about the students! The owner is extremely accommodating and understanding. My son LOVES going to school everyday.
The staff is always very friendly and happy. Teachers are definitely knowledgeable, and the children are very well cared for. We love all of the policies in place to ensure regulations are met and that the children are safe.
We have now had 3 kids at Goddard, and getting ready to send our 4th. We have had nothing but a great experience, from infant to pre-k. The teachers are amazing, the director and other staff are fantastic. Although Goddard is quite expensive, the way I see it, is you pay for what you get, and you get amazong care with them. I have recommended them many times.
